The Coaching Partnership

Individual Executive and Management Coaching Programmes.

50% of our client work revolves around the Individual Management and Executive Coaching Programme. Each programme is tailored to an individuals requirements and typically features 5 x 1:1 Coaching Sessions as well as relevant Psychometric or 360 degree feedback.

Coaching Programmes can either be:
  • Content-Specific (help with mission-critical presentations, negotiations, career management or project management) or

  • Issue-Specific (help during a new promotion, getting around performance barriers etc.).
You will find more information on each of these at below the following diagram.

Please feel free to contact us for further discussion on your particular need (you may also be interested in our Structured Team Facilitation and Coaching Programme).

What Sorts of Issues do our Coaching Programmes Address?
The Individual Coaching programme typically addresses one of the following issues:

Content-Specific:
  • Presentation Skills - where an individual requires specific feedback and points on improvement for mission-critical presentation skills (we also offer a "Master Persuasive Presentations" workshop.

  • Negotiation Skills - when the bottom line is affected by the coachees ability to perform in a negotiation situation.

  • Strategy - We often work with senior managers who require confidential feedback and support while developing a Strategic Plan with their teams.

  • Project Management - While Project Managers are often very skilled in their expert area - the aspect of receiving support through coaching to ensure the project comes in on time, budget and with quality requirements is often overlooked.

  • Career Management - We are often referred individuals who feel that they are hitting a "glass ceiling" or are feeling plateaued in their roles. A stretching, yet pragmatic, action plan is developed.

  • Time and Personal Productivity - This is typically the starting point for a lot of coaching engagements. Clearing away some of the stress of the urgent usually leads to the clear head required to make effective decisions.

  • Persuasion and Influencing Skills - The more senior the manager, the more adept they need to become at managing the politics of a situation to enact meaningful change.

Issue-Specific:
  • Newly-Promoted - When a manager is newly-promoted they always eventually find their feet and learn to perform in their new positions. Coaching works to accelerate this process.

  • Getting past performance-barriers - We all face different barriers to optimum performance in the workplace. Coaching helps to identify what these are and how to overcome them - quickly and permanently!

  • Team Communications - Effective personal communication skills are often not recognised when they are present - just when they are missing! Coaching typically points out the need for a change in communication styles and ways of effectively changing.

  • General Developmental - Some managers and executives like to audit and assess their career/job progress every 6 or 12 months.

  • Improving Personal Effectiveness - Coaching is sometimes seen as overcoming "deficiencies". However, it is much more effective when it focuses on what is already working well - and raising that competence to an even greater level.

  • Improving Self-Knowledge - This is the start of all coaching. Understanding yourself as a manager/executive and how others perceive you is typically a pre-requisite for understanding and working more effectively with others. We use a wide variety of psychometric tools towards this end as well as the coaching approach.
